Members and their families are invited to visit the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill on Sunday, June 23rd to see the new World Gallery. The Gallery includes a display of some of the Museum’s extensive collection of Indonesian batiks, and curator Fiona Kerlogue will be at the display at 11.30 and 2.30 to talk about the collection and to answer members’ questions. There are other Indonesian items elsewhere in the gallery, including a becak. There is also an Indonesian mangrove exhibit in the aquarium and a butterfly house in the gardens. Picnic tables are available near the Dutch Barn and there is a family-friendly cafe. Please note that entrance to the Museum, including the World Gallery, is free, though there is an entrance charge for the butterfly house and the aquarium. For more details click here
