The Anglo-Indonesian Society has over 300 Corporate and Individual Members. The Society encourages newcomers who have an active interest in Indonesia and who support the aims of the Society to become Members. The election of Members is at the discretion of the Council. Members must be aged 18 years or older.
If you are interested in becoming a Member, simply fill out and submit the Enquiry Form in the section Contact Us, explaining the reasons for your interest.
Alternatively, if you already know a Member of the Society, you can ask them to sponsor a membership application from you. They can arrange for our Membership Secretary to send you a Membership Application Form by email.
Current membership subscription rates are:
- Corporate Membership subscription is £50 per annum
- Individual Membership subscription is £10 per annum
- Membership for Full-time Students is free of charge
Membership entitles you to attend the Society’s monthly lectures free of charge. You may also on occasion bring a limited number of guests. You will receive by email the Society’s monthly newsletter giving details of the Society’s forthcoming programme of events, details of upcoming Indonesian-related events in Britain and news of the Society.
The Society also provides details to the Members of its Database of Opportunities for Volunteering, Study and Adventure in Indonesia. This database is a unique list of different opportunities for young British people (and the young in heart) to get away from the tourist track and really get to know Indonesia in their gap year or career break. The opportunities listed include Indonesian government scholarships, environmental projects, charity work, homestays and much more. It is of particular interest for sixth forms and universities. If you want to know more about it, please fill out and submit the Enquiry Form in the section Contact Us, explaining your particular interest.
The Council particularly welcomes Members taking part in its working groups to develop and expand the Society’s activities. Such involvement provides an opportunity for Members to contribute to UK-Indonesian relations while at the same time making new friends and developing their organisational skills.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL NOTICE 2019-2020
From the Membership Secretary
THE ANGLO-INDONESIAN SOCIETY – MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL NOTICE 2019-2020
On behalf of A-IS Council, I hope that you are finding the e-newsletter and events informative and enjoyable, and thank you for being a member of the Society.
If you are an Ordinary member or a Corporate member, we hope that you will renew your membership by submitting your annual subscription for the Society’s financial year from 01 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. The annual subscription due on 01 July 2019 is £10 for Ordinary Membership and £50 for Corporate membership. Your membership will be renewed upon receipt of the subscription.
Many thanks to those Ordinary members who have already paid this subscription by standing order or automatic direct bank transfer on 01 July 2019, or thereabouts. This is our preferred way of working as it greatly helps the volunteer Membership Secretary and Honorary Treasurer.
Our Membership Secretary, Angela Simpson, will send a reminder email to those Ordinary Members who have not yet paid their annual subscription, in which the Society’s bank details will be provided. Corporate members will be sent a membership renewal request and invoice shortly. Membership for Life Members will automatically renew – please let us know if you wish to change your details or membership status. Student Membership continues (free) whilst studying. We hope that those who complete their studies and stay in the UK will convert to Ordinary membership. Please let us know when your circumstances change.
For queries about membership renewal, please contact Angela Simpson, Membership Secretary via AIS_news@mail.com or to Angela’s Hotmail address.
