The event opened with remarks from Indonesian Ambassador Desra Percaya, followed by a conversation between the author and Faye Robinson, managing editor culinary at Phaidon, which published the book.

Approximately 100 guests attended, including journalists, members of The Guild of Food Writers, chefs, AIS members, and supporters of Jepun Charity. Guests enjoyed a selection of dishes from the book and beverages, including es cendol, showcasing the vibrant flavours of Indonesian plant-based cuisine.

In partnership with Jepun Charity, the launch also supported initiatives focused on education and underprivileged communities in Indonesia.


All books must be pre-ordered in advance. No sales on the day.

30% of book sales at the launch will go to Jepun Indonesia in UK, a charity dedicatd to supporting underprivileged children, education and women’s empowerment in Indonesia.
