An Indonesian Photographic Odyssey by Tim Motion

Posted on June 26, 2018February 17, 2019 By AIS_news@mail.com No Comments on An Indonesian Photographic Odyssey by Tim Motion

Professional photographer Tim Motion travelled around Indonesia on a photographic odyssey over a combined period of about five months in 1986 and 1993, guided by Janet Cochrane of The Society.

He travelled by plane, boat, jeep and jungle trek, visiting Jakarta, Java tea estates, Sulawesi (Makassar, Toraja, Palu and Manado), Ambon and the Maluku islands, Irian Jaya (Sorong, Jayapura and the Baliem Valley), Kalimantan (orang utans at Camp Leakey), Rinca and Komodo (for the dragons), Bali and Sumatra. His travels over this vast country left an indelible impression on him. Fortunately, he still has the pictorial evidence to remind us of the diverse and magical quality of the place and its people.

Our sincere gratitude to Tim Motion who has shared some of his amazing photographs and memories of Indonesia from that period.
