Posted on November 27, 2025 By Ati Kisjanto No Comments on November Meeting: Annual General Meeting followed by a talk by chef and AIS Vice Chair Petty Elliott “Indonesia, an archipelago of plenty”.

Tuesday November 11 at 18:30 at the Indonesian Embassy and via Zoom

30 Great Peter Street, London SW1P 2BU.

Every one of Indonesia’s more than 17,000 islands tells its story through food, flavours and culinary traditions, creating one of the world’s most vibrant culinary landscapes. Petty will share her culinary journeys across the archipelago, reflecting its extraordinary natural wealth and cultural diversity.

These include the bamboo cooking of North Sulawesi, the spice-laden dishes of West Sumatra, home of rendang, the culinary inspirations of the reliefs of Borobudur Temple, a simple meal with the people of Badui, the fresh seafood of Sumba, the unique wild horse milk of Moyo Island, and even spending time with the people of Emeyode, Kais in South Sorong, Papua.

Indonesian food tells a story of abundance, diversity, and heritage woven together across the seas.

Petty’s latest book is “The Indonesian Table”, which includes 150 recipes.
