Muhammad Riedha, MD, BMedSci, MSc, will give a talk to the A-IS on the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Dr Riedha gained his MSc in International Public Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine as a Chevening scholar in 2015. Since July 2017 Dr Riedha has been Public Health Manager at the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) -‘Rapid Response’ Foundation, since June 2020 he has provided Technical Assistance for the NGO Nutrition International and since November he has been acting as a consultant for the West Java Provincial Covid-19 Task Force. Since April 2020 he has acted as coordinator at the ACT Corona Crisis Center responding to the health, economic and social impact of the virus in a voluntary capacity. He has co-authored research papers and teaches. Dr Riedha will talk about the social impact of the virus in Indonesia. He will also touch on current issues and challenges, policies and prevention measures that have been put in place, including vaccination, what Indonesia has learned from successful efforts in other ASEAN countries and about opportunities to move forward.
Dr. Jonathan Agranoff, long time A-IS and former Council member, will be moderating the meeting. He has also worked extensively in Indonesia and on pandemic preparedness in avian influenza so should provide a good opportunity to hear how Indonesia is faring with the pandemic.
