Hilmi Kartasasmita
Master’s Student & President of The Indonesian Student’s Association at Oxford
Junior Advisor in The Executive Office of The President (2019 – 2024)
Founding Member of The Global Indonesia Professionals’ Association (GIPA)

Hilmi is a Master’s student at the University of Oxford’s Diplomatic Studies Programme with a scholarship from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education.
Prior to this, he was a Junior Advisor in the Executive Office of the President from 2019 to 2024, where he worked on delivering national priority programmes and managing strategic issues in the political, legal, and security sectors (including foreign affairs).
Outside of work, Hilmi is a founding member of the Global Indonesia Professionals’ Association (GIPA), which works closely with Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry to empower and mobilise Indonesian diaspora professionals for Indonesia’s economic diplomacy and human capital development.
Hilmi received his undergraduate degree (BSc Hons) from the University of Warwick, with significant time spent in Greater China. An alumnus of Indonesia’s National Resilience Institute, he holds a Professional Certificate in Public Policy and Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
