Inspired by Indonesian arts and cultural traditions, Indonesia Kontemporer, is a creative event mixing exhibitions, performances, workshops, crafts, film screenings, as well as food and handicrafts stalls. While the Festival’s artists and craftspeople live all over the world, their work is steeped in Indonesian cultural tradition and in turn contributes to shaping the arts and crafts of contemporary Indonesia.

Hosted by the SOAS Centre of South-East Asian Studies in partnership with ArtiUK the festival is made possible by the generous help of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Kingdom.

ARTi UK, established in August 2010, is a non-profit organisation aiming at promoting Indonesian arts and culture within the UK’s cultural diversity.
