The Nusantara Innovation Forum (NIF) is organising Think Tech: Technology Innovation in Indonesia. In this first event in the Think Tech talk series, NIF invites guest speakers to speak about their work in the education tech, health tech and smart cities. The speakers will talk about how their work alleviates some of the chronic issues faced by Indonesians.

Speakers:

Talitha Amalia

Talitha Amalia heads the educational research and interventions, monitoring and evaluation, and community engagement activities of Solve Education!. Amalia and her team developed the curriculum, instruction and assessment frameworks of Solve Education’s mobile application, Dawn of Civilization. She earned a master’s degree in Education and International Development from the University College London.

Dr. Dian Kusuma (Deka)

Dian’s research interests include the assessment of national health systems and the design, implementation and evaluation of health interventions at the population, community, and health systems level. Prior to joining Imperial College London, he was a postdoctoral research fellow and research associate at Harvard University working on the Malaysia Health Systems Research.

At Imperial, he is working on the NIHR Global Health Research Unit project aiming to create an inter-disciplinary environment that fosters the development and implementation of acceptable, equitable, efficient, scalable and sustainable approaches to reduce the burden of type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in four countries in South Asia including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Dhimas Anindito

Dhimas was trained as regional and urban planner in Institut Teknologi Bandung. His interests revolve around topics such as public participation, urban analytics, as well as public transportation. Besides previously working at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Dhimas has collaborated with Resilience Development Initiative, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, IMC Worldwide, and the Ministry of Tourism, Indonesia.

He is currently finishing up his Master dissertation in Smart Cities and Urban Analytics at Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, University College London.
